After Parkton, Big Brother Demands All Oceanians Help Protect Our Spies
Big Brother addressed the nation yesterday to deliver an important message in the wake of the recent violence at the Parkton Young Party Members Education Center.
“There is no simple answer to the problem of violent thoughtcriminals who target our innocent Spies,” BB said. “We must not simply talk about it as we have before. This has been happening for too long, too many times. Starting today, we will get it done. We must protect the youngest and most vulnerable Oceanians from these enemies who could be around every corner.”
He called upon all comrades, proles and Party members alike, to do their part in defending against this insidious menace. Experts and those affected by incidents of Education Center shootings alike have been gathered in panels at the Ministry of Love to engage in dialogue and discussion about the problem.
“I was lucky to be born in a world where the Party is here to secure safety and peace for us,” said one young Spy, Jonathan Grober. “I just hope they can continue to improve at identifying dangerous wrongthinkers so that this never happens again.”
One proposal from a Party thinktank led by Inner Party member John Cormin has suggested strengthening the background check system for personal weapon permits. It remains to be seen whether this proposal will be approved by Big Brother.
